San
Jose, Calif. - Artisan Components Inc. has joined the InSequence
Technology Partner Program of Sequence Design Inc., a move
that had been encouraged by customers of both companies.Vic
Kulkarni, president and CEO of Sequence, a power and signal
integrity tool vendor, said the collaboration will ensure
users of Sequence's PowerTheater RTL tool that the power-related
properties of cells in Artisan's dual-threshold libraries
are properly characterized.Piyush Sancheti, product marketing
director for power integrity products at Sequence (),
said the companies collaborated on coverage and characterization
methodology. Coverage estimates are now available for the
Artisan library cells, he said.
Jim Hogan, vice president of business
development at Artisan (), said
that the proper power characterization of cells is particularly
important to users of customer-owned tooling, who generally
use Artisan's libraries "right out of the box."
"This collaboration is proactive
in that we are addressing the power issues before the bulk
of customers really move to the 90-nm node," Hogan said.
