SANTA
CLARA, Calif. - Feb. 1, 2005 - Sequence Design CEO Vic
Kulkarni will join a distinguished panel discussing the growing
trend of outsourcing R&D to India at the NASSCOM Leadership
Forum on Thursday, Feb. 10, 4 p.m., in Bombay.
Leading the panel is Broadview's managing director of technology
investment banking, Bruce Huber, joined by Kulkarni; Anant
Kopar, president of MphasiS Technologies; Ness Technologies'
vice president Shai Onn; and Ajay Chamania, vice president
product engineering services, Patni Computer Systems.
Since 1990, NASSCOM's annual India Leadership Forum has been
the most prestigious and successful hi-tech conference in
India. In 2004, NASSCOM's conference reinvented itself to
become the first hi-tech conference to go beyond technology.
Leading thinkers, analysts, bankers, politicians, and political
figures from the United States, Europe, and throughout Asia
spoke about the effects of high-tech growth on the global
economy.
"With our worldwide R&D and field application operations
we believe in going where the talent and customers are. India
has impeccable engineering talent and favorable policies for
doing business," Kulkarni said. "As our markets
expand throughout India and Asia, India clearly becomes our
preferred destination."
Sequence has invested more than Rs. 23 Crores (more than
$5 million U.S.) in its India-based R&D operations the
past five years. Currently, Sequence enjoys a growing customer
base of multinational semiconductor companies in India, particularly
in Bangalore's technology-rich environment. Kulkarni said
he expects to double Sequence India's strength in 2005, and
announced the company will open a "Center of Excellence"
in Noida's new Logix Techno Park, focused on engineering,
marketing, and support for the company's growing customer
base in Japan and southeast Asia.
