SANTA
CLARA, Calif. - March 8, 2006 - Japan's Semiconductor
Technology Academic Research Center (STARC) has certified
Sequence Design's PowerTheater and CoolTime SoC power analysis
and optimization tools for its new STARCAD-21 production flow.
STARC ()
is a research and development consortium founded by 11 major
Japanese semiconductor companies.
PowerTheater provides a complete power analysis and optimization
toolkit for full design realization, including the only reliable
view of power at the RT level. CoolTime is the industry's
leading cell-based electrical integrity tool for the concurrent
analysis of voltage drop, power, electromigration (EM), timing,
and signal integrity (SI).
"CoolTime's ability to render accurate and convergent
analysis of interdependent electrical effects is well suited
to meet the challenges of 90nm design, and PowerTheater's
results for peak power and average power in advanced designs
were highly correlated with actual silicon," said Nobuyuki
Nishiguchi, vice president and general manager, Development
Dept.-1, STARC. "Sequence deftly meets the requirements
for power-signoff, and is a key component of this important
new production flow."
"It is an honor to be chosen for this advanced production
flow," said Vic Kulkarni, Sequence president and CEO.
"We have developed a great appreciation for STARC's commitment
to advancing the science and art of chip design over the past
year that we have worked together, and look forward to strengthening
our relationship for many years to come."
PowerTheater is the industry standard for low-power design
at RTL, with capabilities ranging from early RTL analysis
to full-chip power estimates for today's largest designs.
PowerTheater allows users to begin the design process with
a firm handle on power budgets - before synthesis, when it
is too late to optimize - and complete projects with verified
results that correlate to silicon.
CoolTime is a cell-based electrical integrity tool providing
concurrent analysis of voltage drop, power, electromigration,
timing, and signal integrity for sub-90nm SoC designs, eliminating
the need for multiple point tools and iterations.
