Electronic News Breakfast in the Valley Discussion:
"Cool By Design: Managing Low Power for Consumer
Electronics"
Press Meeting Rooms, Moscone Center, San Francisco
Consumer electronics are forcing
designers to design their chips to meet a low-energy
budget. EDA companies big and small offer low-power
software solutions that address the need to manage
low power in consumer electronics, but is it enough?
Participants include executives from two small
EDA companies that offer low-power solutions,
Mentor Graphics and Magma, an EDA company focused
on low-power design, but better known as a company
willing to challenge the status quo. They will
describe how chip designers are beating the power
drain in consumer electronics and succeeding.
Confirmed Participants:
- Shiv Tasker, CEO of Bluespec Inc.
- Vic Kulkarni, CEO of Sequence Design Inc.
- Kam Kittrell, General Manager of Design
Implementation Business Unit, Magma Design
Automation
- Simon Bloch, General Manager, Design Creation
and Synthesis Division, Mentor Graphics
